Word of the Year & Business Resolutions

Hi everyone!

It’s hard to believe that it’s already 2019! Personally, I have been picking a word of the year for the last 3 years, so I thought this time, it would be a great idea to pick one for my business to really focus my goals around. The word of 2019 is:

Aspire:

1. direct one’s hopes and dreams toward achieving something

2. rise high; tower

For a grant writing business, I feel like this word is a natural fit, because I want to see my business grow, and all the nonprofits I serve grow as well. There are words that could have been more “me” or “business” focused like abundance, but aspire to me symbolizes exactly the partnership I love having with the Executive Directors I serve. I want to help you achieve your goals, and your wildest hopes and dreams for your organization!

Along with my word of the day, I have a few ideas I am focusing in on for the next year that are my business goals:

  1. Host at least two personalized workshops: The Grant Audit Workshop is going to be my #1! I’ve already put together the materials for it and just have one more spot remaining for Jan and some for Feb, so if you’re interested, feel free to email me or schedule a call so we can get started. The other one will come to me in time, I’m thinking about having one that’s a little more focused, like data analytics and evaluation methods.

  2. Connect with a few (at least 5) other entrepreneurs: It’s been great getting to learn from other entrepreneurs that did it their way like Sahara Rose and Danielle Klemm they are amazing and were full of incredible insight. Connecting with more entrepreneurs and getting out of my comfort zone can only help me and my clients.

  3. Read 3 new grant writing books, and 2 new strategy books: I am always learning, and trying to find the best ways to serve you! In the past, I’ve read grant writing books and picked up some great tips and tricks, same with a few strategy books I’ve been looking at. As I learn more about them, I’ll be writing reviews on my blog.

These are just a few of my goals, of course there’s getting in touch with more nonprofits as well, while continuing to find innovative ways to help my clients. I can’t wait for everything ahead- stay tuned for my new square & paypal payment options as well!
